In a bid to accelerate BIGM implementation, the municipality conducted a consultation process with various role players in the tourism sector. The consultation was held on Wednesday, 25 April 2018 with the involvement of Government Departments, Local Institutions of Higher Learning (WSU and KSD TVET College) and Tourism Industry Expects such as Adventure and Recreation (Night Life), Attractions, Events and Conferences, Food and Beverage, and Accommodation/ hotels. The sector has expressed their views on how best can the BIGM be implemented to benefit local stakeholders at large.

The discussions were about project sustainability. Challenges and opportunities of the sector. Amongst the important issues it was provision of adequate infrastructure, improvement of public safety measures, need to attend to issue of cleanliness, enhancing of marketing and communication of tourism activities and attractions, capacitation of those in operating in the sector both internal and external within the communities of KSD to improve services offered by tourism sector. Challenges and opportunities in the tourism sector were also considered.
Additional to that it is important to strengthen partnerships between KSDM and Tourism sector. However, the municipality gave highlights on progress made towards improving infrastructure such as roads, electricity and tourism facilities.

There are clear roles and responsibilities between government and private sector.
