In response to the need to improve Jubilee taxi rank, King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality has recently unveiled the plans to revamp the rank and give it a face lift.

The plans were shared during site handing over to a construction company tasked to rehabilitate the rank, Ngqukaza Trading JV Construction Company.

The construction of the rank will have great benefits to commuters as they will no longer be exposed to unconducive weather and criminals while at the rank because shelters and lights will be fixed. The rank will also have an improved pavement structure, renovated hawker stalls, loading bay. Precast concrete refusal bins will be provided to maintain cleanliness within the rank.

The municipality has committed an amount of R 4 374 067.16 towards the project and a minimum of 15 locals will be employed. The revamping is set to take a period of six months starting in January 2020.
