As part of the women’s month celebrations, MEC Meth has recently handed over boreholes to women’s enterprise in KSD. The boreholes are aimed to help improve the agricultural activities of the entities.

One of the organizations that benefited from the program include the Siphe Development and Capacitation Agency in Kaplane Village.

This agri-business agency was founded by a young black women in 2014. To date, it has created 19 jobs with 6 agriculture students on site. The entity currently produces 60 000 vegetable seedlings per week and the vegetables are sold to businesses like Pick’n Pay, Spar, Food lovers, Dan’s Lodge, Ideal Veg and local food outlets.

KSD Executive Mayor, Councillor Nyaniso Nelani expressed his gratitude and encouragement to the businesswoman for her positive impact to the economic development and job creation in KSD. He also encouraged young women to learn from the young entrepreneur and take part in such initiatives.
