In a bid to improve the provision of basic service delivery in the rural areas, King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality has rolled out a programme for construction of access roads.
A total of six contractors were introduced for the construction of access roads in various wards of KSD.
There are seven wards that benefitted in this programme and these includes ward 14,15,24,28,31,32 and 34.
The programme is implemented under Municipal Infrastructure Grant (MIG) and a budget of R43 320 961 has been set aside for these projects.
This development also served as a job stimulation as a result 109 local people will be employed.
Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises (SMMEs) and local business will also benefit from the programme through purchasing of material and provision of other services such as truck hiring.
