KSD Municipality’s Public Safety and Traffic Management, together with SAPS conducted operation ‘DUDULA’ at Stanford Terrace Street towing illegally parked vehicles.

The operation was conducted on 12-13 April 2024, where the Municipal truck towed all vehicles wrongly parked. Nearby residents were thrilled, acknowledging and appreciating the operation.

The second day of Operation DUDULA kicked off, some customers residing near Highness really appreciated the job being done by the Municipality. Some of them said the Municipality was supposed to do it a long time ago. The evening of the operation was tougher than the previous day as more than ten vehicles were towed away for reckless parking.

A man in his 30s who claimed to be a police officer in Gqeberha attempted to interfere with the operation as his colleague’s vehicle was being towed.  Stop and search was conducted and liquor was found. Some motorists did not have drivers’ licenses and other vehicles did not display registration plates (number plates) as well as licence discs.

The operation moved on through the City of Mthatha and some vehicles were towed away. Law Enforcement Officers on the ground are prepared to work tirelessly until they ensure that every motorist complies to the traffic rules. The operation will be an on-going exercise in order ensure that there is law an order in the city.
