The King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality conducted a Disaster Management Advisory Forum meeting at the Jerald Raymond Hawkes Stadium.
The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen coordination among stakeholders on disaster risk management, review disaster preparedness and response measures, share critical information and develop strategies to mitigate the impact of disasters within communities across the Municipality.
The meeting brought together various stakeholders committed to improving disaster management planning, emergency response and community safety across the OR Tambo District Municipality.
Discussions focused on enhancing intergovernmental cooperation, disaster response readiness, climate-related challenges, early warning systems and community awareness initiatives aimed at reducing disaster risks and protecting lives and property.
