Government Strengthens Community Access Through Service on Wheels Programme in Mpheko

Members of Parliament, Ms Stella Ndabeni and Ms Thokozile Sokhanyile, had on Wednesday, 6 August 2026, visited the Mpheko Traditional Authority under Chief No-Italy, accompanied by the Executive Mayor of King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality, Cllr Mkhanyiseli Dudumayo, the Honourable Speaker, Cllr Nomamfengu Siyo-Sokulu and representatives from various government departments.

The visit formed part of the Service on Wheels programme, an initiative aimed at bringing essential government services closer to communities while improving access to information, opportunities and public services.

Addressing community members, Ms Stella Ndabeni encouraged residents, particularly young people, women and aspiring entrepreneurs, to take advantage of the opportunities provided through government economic development initiatives. She highlighted programmes that support entrepreneurship through business funding, SMME and cooperative development, business incubation, skills development, market access opportunities and enterprise support offered by government institutions.

As part of the programme, residents were able to access a range of integrated government services from participating departments and entities, including the Department of Health, Department of Education, Department of Social Development, South African Social Security Agency (SASSA), South African Police Service (SAPS) and the Small Enterprise Development and Finance Agency (SEDFA).
