Hosted KSD Political IGR Tackles Issues of Service Delivery

The King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality hosted a Political Intergovernmental Relations (IGR) meeting at the Nkululekweni Council Chambers on Wednesday, 24 June 2026.

In his welcoming remarks, the Executive Mayor, Cllr G.N. Nelani emphasized the importance of co-operation among all spheres of government in addressing matters that affect communities and ensuring effective service delivery.

The meeting provided a platform for stakeholders to share information, strengthen collaboration and develop collective responses to issues of public interest and community development.

Stakeholders in attendance included the Office of the Deputy President, South African National Defence Force (SANDF), South African Police Service (SAPS), the Departments of Home Affairs and Human Settlements, O.R. Tambo District Municipality, Eskom, Independent Electoral Commission (IEC).

KSD remains committed to intergovernmental collaboration, ensuring stable service delivery, public safety and responsive governance to all residents. 

SAPS assured the meeting that it is ready to deal with any eventuality during the protest by March and March, scheduled for the 30th of June 2026.
