The Isiqalo Youth Fund, an initiative of the Office of the Premier, has awarded funding support to YPL (PTY) LTD, a company owned by young entrepreneur Yamkela Gegula. The company provides WiFi connectivity solutions to homes and businesses across the O.R. Tambo and Alfred Nzo regions.
Through the Isiqalo Youth Fund programme, YPL (PTY) LTD received support to the value of R1,397,313.14, which includes a caddy van, building materials, office equipment and stock aimed at strengthening and expanding the company’s operations. This support forms part of ongoing efforts by government to empower young people through entrepreneurship development and sustainable economic participation.
The investment is expected to contribute positively towards local economic growth and job creation within the King Sabata Dalindyebo Local Municipality. As the business expands its services, more employment opportunities are anticipated, particularly for young people within local communities.
Access to reliable internet connectivity continues to play an important role in education, communication, business development and access to information. The support provided to YPL (PTY) LTD will therefore not only strengthen the company, but also improve digital access for households and businesses in underserved areas of the district.
The programme highlights government’s commitment to supporting innovative youth-led enterprises that contribute meaningfully to community development and economic transformation. The Isiqalo Youth Fund continues to create opportunities for young entrepreneurs to grow sustainable businesses and become active contributors to the provincial economy.
