KSD Conducts Awareness on Compliance for Formal and Informal Trading

KSD held a Stakeholder Engagement meeting on Formal and Informal Traders, as well as Retail Spaza Shops workshop, today at Mqanduli.

The session featured presentations from various stakeholders, including representatives from SAPS/Public Safety, SARS, SEDFA, Environmental Health, and Home Affairs.

  • Attendees gained important information on the following topics:
  • Registration processes and requirements
  • Annual tariffs and fees
  • Offenses and penalties for non-compliance
  • Security and safety regulations
  • Tax compliance and obligations
  • Business registration and support
  • Health and safety standards
  • Immigration and employment requirements

The session aimed to educate and bring awareness on compliance for both formal and informal Trading including Spaza Shops and help traders to operate legally and avoid contravention of bylaws and other business regulations.
