KSDM Public Safety and Traffic Management Department officials were deployed on this Good Friday, the start of the easter weekend and ensuring that the precinct is safe and peaceful for all our visitors, road users and citizens of the precinct.
Various operations were carried out by municipal police involving roadblocks, public transport operations and patrols deterring crime. To ensure the safety of bathers, a total of 42 lifeguards were deployed in Hole in the wall and Mthatha Swimming pool.
The initiative aims to enhance community safety and provide support for families celebrating the holiday.
All our beaches have been incident free and beach goers were enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. Twenty vehicles were impounded for various transport transgressions and fines issued accordingly.
In overall all operations were carried out jointly in collaboration with SAPS, EMS, Traffic Services and Law Enforcement.
