KSD handed over shearing shed equipment to the wool growing farmers at Manzothweni, Ward 29, Mqanduli. Rural and Economic Development MMC, Cllr M. Dudumayo and Public Safety MMC, who is also a Ward Councillor, Cllr M. Marasha led KSD delegation that descended to this community of the aspirant farmers.
Speaking at this event, MMC Dudumayo called upon the attendees to safeguard this equipment and kindly share it with the neighbouring villages.
Speaking on behalf of the wool growing farmers, KSD former Senior Manager, Colonel Ndzwayiba assured KSD delegation that they will keep the equipment safe and he further requested officials to come forth with any information deemed fit sharing with them regarding farming trends.
The Municipality also handed over diving gear equipment to seven Fishing Cooperatives and some equipment to four local SMME’s. The equipment included two sewing machines, 50 cm Dagama material, leather works machine, leather material, two steam washers, two hoovers and a meat cutter.
The initiative is part of the Municipality’s efforts to promote economic growth and job creation for KSD communities.
