King Sabata Dalindyebo (KSD) Municipality, in partnership with various stakeholders, hosted a Youth Zone Activation Programme at Mapuzi Clinic in Ward 24.
The programme was aimed at bringing essential health, social support and awareness services closer to the community, with a particular focus on young people. It provided residents with easy access to health information, counselling, guidance and referrals to relevant support services, while promoting healthy lifestyles and informed decision-making.
During the programme, young people were encouraged to avoid gender-based violence (GBV), substance abuse and risky sexual behaviour that can lead to teenage pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). They were urged to focus on personal development opportunities, including agriculture, skills development and other empowerment programmes that can help build a brighter and more sustainable future.
The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to equip young people with the knowledge, skills and support needed to make positive life choices and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
