King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality’s Public Participation Unit conducted a community consultation meeting at Mpetsheni in Ward 15 to engage residents on matters affecting their community.
The purpose of the meeting was to provide clarity and facilitate discussions regarding the demarcation process, as well as concerns arising from the closure of the Mpetsheni Voting District (VD) Station by the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC). Community members expressed concerns that the closure of the station had negatively affected some residents, resulting in challenges on voters registration.
IEC has been requested to re-consider its decision to close Mpetsheni Voting Station as this could have a negative impact on voters turn out on the 4th of November 2026
