The King Sabata Dalindyebo Local Municipality’s Department of Rural Economic Development (RED) in collaboration with relevant stakeholders recently conducted a joint operation aimed at enforcing Municipal bylaws and promoting compliance within the town.
The operation focused on the unlawful placement of container structures within the Central Business District and surrounding areas. In terms of Municipal bylaws, containers are not permitted to be permanently stationed in undesignated areas around town. Mobile containers fitted with wheels are encouraged to ensure that they can be easily removed or relocated when necessary.
Following prior engagements and notices issued to non-compliant operators, containers that failed to comply with the Municipal regulations were removed during the operation.
The Municipality remains committed to maintaining a clean, safe and orderly environment while ensuring that business activities operate within the framework of approved Municipal bylaws.
