Eastern Cape Human Settlements MEC, Siphokazi Lusithi together with the King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality handed over 345 title deeds in Maiden Farm, Ward 09. The event was held on Thursday 2023 at Maiden Farm.
This initiative is one of the strides being made by the government in bringing dignity to the people. In her address, MEC Lusithi emphasised that these title deeds come with the responsibility to take care of the property. She also highlighted that people must not sell because it is not only the name that appears on the deed that benefits, but also future generations. It is an asset.
KSDM Executive Mayor, Cllr. Nyaniso Nelani spoke about KSD’s aspiration to becoming a Metro. Encouraged the spirit of unity, he stressed that practical action is needed to achieve this goal, and stated that handing over these deeds is another step towards this goal.
These title deeds are in relation to housing projects within KSD, which included 33 Military Veterans among the recipients who benefitted from the KSD 1317 housing project. The project provided integrated, sustainable human settlements for those beneficiaries who were in need of decent quality homes.
