The Executive Mayor of King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality, Cllr M Dudumayo, successfully convened a Mayoral Imbizo in Ward 33, reaffirming the Municipality’s commitment to responsive governance, public participation and improved service delivery.
The Imbizo, held on Friday 31 July 2026, brought together members of the Mayoral Committee, Councillors, Traditional Leaders, KSD Municipality senior management and officials, government departments and key stakeholders to engage directly with residents on issues affecting their community.
The Mayoral Imbizo provided residents with an opportunity to raise service delivery concerns, make inputs on municipal programmes and projects and receive feedback from the Municipality and relevant government departments, thereby promoting transparency, accountability and people-centred governance.
Key issues raised by residents included:
* Construction and maintenance of access roads.
* Water supply and sanitation services.
* Electricity supply and public lighting.
* Human settlements and housing-related matters.
* Social relief and support services.
* Crime prevention and community safety.
* Employment opportunities and local economic development.
* Youth development and skills empowerment.
* Illegal liquor outlets and law enforcement.
* Identity document, social grant and voter registration services.
As part of the programme, Services on Wheels ensured that residents accessed essential government services from the Department of Human Settlements, SASSA, the Eastern Cape Liquor Board, the Department of Social Development, SAPS, IEC, the Department of Home Affairs and Community Safety.
In a gesture of support to vulnerable members of the community, the Executive Mayor also handed over 10 food parcels to identified beneficiaries, demonstrating the Municipality’s commitment to assisting those in need.
King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality remains committed to working with communities, Traditional Leaders and all stakeholders to address service delivery challenges, strengthen public participation and improve the quality of life for all residents.
