OVER 23 000 JOB OPPORTUNITIES ON CARDS FOR EC UNEMPLOYED GRADUATES

In a groundbreaking initiative, the Minister of Employment and Labour, Nomakhosazana Meth launched the labour Activation Programme( LAP) in KSD Municipality on 28 March 2025  at Mthatha Stadium. This initiative aims in providing internships to unemployed graduates, creating over 23 000 job opportunities in the Eastern Cape.

 

The program is designed to address the pressing issue of youth unemployment, seeks to provide valuable work experience and skills development opportunities to unemployed graduates. Through this initiative, the KSD Municipality and the Department of Labour aim to empower young people with the necessary tools to succeed in the job market.

 

During the launch, over 906 million was handed over to Labour Activation Programme (LAP) partners to stimulate job opportunities and massive employment for our people.

 

The contractors have committed to providing internships to the unemployed graduates, offering them hands-on experience and training in various fields.
