Department Overview

The Technical Services Department mandate is to provide access to basic services for the citizens of the KSD Municipality. The following are the functions that the department is responsible for:

• Maintenance of roads, both surfaced and gravel, in both urban and rural areas.
• Maintenance of stormwater drains.
• Providing electricity in both urban and per-urban areas.
• Providing maintenance and operation of the electricity infrastructure in the KSD licenced area of supply.
• Installation and maintenance of streetlights and high masts lights.
• Installation and maintenance of traffic lights.
• Design and construction of social asserts line sports facilities, community halls and access roads.
• Maintaining municipal infrastructural assets such as buildings and electrical wiring.
