King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality has partnered with Eastern Cape CET College to ensure that the lives of the people are improved. This partnership was officially launched on 09 September 2022 at Mthatha Stadium, in which sector departments also pledged their allegiance to this historic partnership.

Speaking for KSD Municipality, Director for Corporate Services Department, Mr. S. Nodo accepted the partnership on behalf of the municipality. “We are in the process of piloting a Wi-Fi service for our rural communities to ensure that their lives improve through the provision of such a service. It will enable them to have their products on digital platforms from which some people from various areas can make orders, thus exposing their businesses to a larger audience”, he concluded.

The programme will provide new skills to the people and bring about change in their respective communities. The principal of the CET College Mr. M. Mdunyelwa mentioned that the college has thirty (30) community learning centres in the entire EC Province with seven (7) satellites that are currently providing General Education and that their administrative hub is based in East London – Boarder Training Hub.

This programme is also supported by the Department of Higher Education and Training. This was confirmed by Deputy Director General, Ms. T. Futshane alluding to the importance of this partnership in shaping the future of education in the Eastern Cape province and in South Africa in its entirety.

The launch was concluded by outdoor sporting activities in which different sporting codes participated, including netball and soccer.
