Earlier this year, the Executive Mayor Cllr Nelani made a promise to the community of Maiden Farm Extension that the municipality would attend to their service delivery grievances.
As of now, the contractors have been appointed to do electrification of households in Maiden Farm Extension. Member of the Mayoral Committee for Infrastructure, Cllr Ziyanda Nokayi introduced the contractors to the community on Tuesday, 29 November 2022. MMC Nokayi was accompanied by Cllr Matyeba from Ward 09 and other municipal officials.
The municipality will be electrifying a total number of 165 households in Maiden Farm Extension. About 10 community members will be employed through the Extended Public Works Programme during the project implementation. The project will take three months to complete and will commence as of next week.
MMC Nokayi requested the community to work together with the contractors in order to fast-track the implementation and meet the time frame allocated for the project to be completed. She also urged the community to safely guard the equipment and report theft and vandalism.
