KSD Municipality Executive Mayor has on October 06, 2023 handed over the completed housing units at Ward 04 and Ward 30. This achievement represents significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to providing quality housing for residents.
The successful completion of these housing units is a statement to the collaborative efforts of the provincial government, local authorities, developers, and community partners. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all those involved into this project, including contractors, architects, and community organisations, for their unwavering dedication and hard work.
In March 2021 the Provincial Department of Human Settlement awarded KSD Municipality to be an implementing agent for the construction of the housing projects that were previously stalled for some time during their execution stage.
The handover of these housing units aligns with our vision as the Municipality of creating a town that is inclusive, sustainable and equitable for all. We firmly believe that access to safe and affordable housing is a fundamental right, and we are committed to addressing the housing challenges faced by our residents. The recipients were elated when they received their keys to their new homes. This is something as government we want to see, changing the lives of the people.
As we celebrate this achievement, we remain steadfast in our commitment to expanding affordable housing opportunities under KSD. We will continue to explore innovative partnerships and funding sources to ensure that every resident has access to affordable place to call home.
Additionally, KSD Municipality unveiled a contractor that will construct 27 housing units for the Ward 10 beneficiaries who are destitute.
