KSD Municipality in partnership with the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and Environment took a huge stride in economical empowerment by signing Community Forestry Agreements in which both Wilo and Ntlangaza will benefit a lot in job creation in a bid to fight rampant unemployment of our youth.
The event that was held in January 31, was graced by the presence of the Deputy Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment Ms Makhotso Sotyu, Deputy Minister in the Presidency for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Ms Pinky Kekana, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Land Reform and Rural Development, Ms Nokuzola Capa and Deputy Minister of Human Settlements Ms Pamela Tshwete.
The Department of Forestry and Fisheries and Environment pledged to find investors for the affected communities and those investors will be requested to train Community members, more especially the young people on furniture manufacturing and extraction of oil from the trees. The trained people will also train other communities on the mentioned skills. This move will be a catalyst to a massive job creation.
KSD Executive Mayor, Councillor Nyaniso Nelani pledged a full support of both the project and the community at large.
