The King Sabata Dalindyebo Local Municipality has successfully inducted trainees under the SMME Micro Enterprise Support Program on April 3, 2024.
This program is funded by the Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA) and it is implemented under Chippa Training Academy, Ntinga O.R Tambo Development Agency SOC Ltd in collaboration with the parent municipality, O.R. Tambo District Municipality, and its five local municipalities.
The program aims to train 700 SMMEs on business skills in the entire district and 140 in each local municipality. The training for SMMEs will take three months with a stipend of R2000.00 per month.
Additionally, 85 graduates from the entire district will be trained, with each Local Municipality selecting 17. The graduates will be trained for one month, and they will train the SMMEs. After training, they will monitor and mentor the SMMEs for 24 months. Graduates will receive a stipend of R6000.00 per month.
