In collaboration with Spur Restaurant, King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality also organised a soup kitchen for children at Bethany Home.
This act of kindness, which overjoyed the children, is part of the municipality’s ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable groups and ensuring the well-being of those in places of safety.
Bethany Home is one of the places of safety in Mthatha for orphaned, abandoned, abused and neglected children.
More than 30 children received pizza as a treat in a programme led by the Office of the Executive Mayor together with the Social Services and Special Programmes Unit.
The programme also served as part of celebrating Mandela Day, which serves as a reminder of Madiba’s values to lend a hand and preserve the spirit of Ubuntu.
