KSD Executive Mayor, Cllr. Nyaniso Nelani, together with MMC for Infrastructure, Cllr. Ziyanda Nokayi, officially introduced to the community the contractor that will be responsible for the Mandela Park Paved Block surfacing at a gathering held on July 25 in Mandela Komkhulu, Ward 11. To be constructed is 1.38 km of road, 6 m wide, for a duration of 10 months.
The work scope includes clearing and grubbing, roadbed preparation, stabilized G7 layer, G5 layer, block paving layer, construction of speed humps, kerbing channel, a stormwater drain and the erection of road signs. In terms of employment opportunities, a total of 45 people will benefit and 20 people will be trained. Two SMMEs will also benefit from this project.
The service providers appointed are: Ntusi Consulting as engineers; Cycle Civils and Projects as the contractor, Lithalomzi as ISD consultants; and Tizta Projects as OHS.
