KSD Municipality had on 16 October 2024 held a Community Safety Forum meeting at Enkululekweni Council Chamber. The aim was to bring together all relevant stakeholders for discussion and sharing of plans to intensify efforts to combat crime in ensuring that KSD is a safer place to live, visit, work and invest.
Items presented included the Status Quo of KSD Community Safety Forum that highlighted strides being made by the Municipality towards community safety, which was well received by the gathering; Government Departments’ reflections on plans of safety; as well as KSD plans to host a Crime Summit in November as part of interventions to address the scourge of crime in our area.
Member for the Mayor Committee (MMC) and the Portfolio Head for Public Safety and Traffic Management, Cllr M. Marasha, stated in his welcoming remarks that fighting crime is everyone’s responsibility, hence the need for integration and coordination of plans.
