On Thursday, October 31, the King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality Executive Mayor Cllr G.N. Nelani handed over the construction of Zone 14 Internal Streets to the contractor in Ward 12. The contractor to carry out this project is Abantsundu Building and Civil . Two SMME will be subcontracted.
The scope of the project includes the construction of 4km long by 4m wide paved road including approximately 150mm layer of G7 and G5 Quality Material, Site establishment ,In-situ rip and recompact, Wearing course 30mm Asphalt , construction of speed humps, and Storm water drainage.
The project is for the duration of 10 months from November 2024 to October 2025 with twenty five job opportunities for local people at R200 daily wage rate, and out of this twenty five, ten people will be trained and accredited.
