KSD Municipality Executive Mayor, Cllr Nyaniso Nelani, the Speaker of Council, Cllr Nomamfengu Siyo-Sokutu and Chief Whip, Cllr Bongani Mlanjeni conducted an oversight visit at Mqanduli construction sites where the Municipality is hard at work constructing a Driving Licence Testing Centre (DLTC) and tarring internal streets.

The visit took place on Wednesday, 10 August 2022, with the purpose of examining the progress of the construction. The centre forms part of the Small-Town Revitalization Programme, an initiative led by the Office of the Eastern Cape Premier. Included in this, is tarring of previously untarred interior roads. An amount 60 million Rand have been ploughed on this project.

A further developmental project that is in the works is the construction of 4060m2 office complex in a tune of R155 million.

The revitalisation of Mqanduli aims to increase investment attraction, which will encourage job creation that will benefit the Mqanduli community.

Besides, it also intends to bring services closer to the people and save them time and costs for travelling to Mthatha to get services.
