OFFICE OF THE MUNICIPAL MANAGER
The Municipal Manager heads and leads the King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality administratively and is subject to the policy directions of the Municipal Council. He heads a total of more than four thousand six hundred (4600) employees. The main role of the Municipal manager is to balance and align the Municipality’s administration with the political leaders’ priorities and laws of the King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality Council.

The main role of the Municipal manager is to balance and align the Municipality’s administration with the political leaders’ priorities and laws of the King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality Council.
All section 57 managers report directly to the Municipal Manager and were appointed in terms of the Local Government Municipal Systems Act of 2000. Section 57 managers are responsible for the smooth running and operations of their departments/directorates. The Municipal manager also provides guidance and support to the internal auditors Division, Communications Division and the Legal Division.
For achievement of the Municipality’s major and most important goal, Service delivery, the office of the Municipal Manager works closely with and advises the Office of the Executive Mayor and the Office of the Speaker.
- Working closely with the Legal Division, the office of the Municipal Manager makes sure that the municipality follows the relevant legislation and the prescribed legal requirements to put the Municipality on the right side of the law at all times.
- Working closely with the Communication Division, the office of the Municipal Manager ensures that all the municipality’s programmes and successes are communicated to all ratepayers and other stakeholders of this Municipality.
- And working closely with the Internal Auditors, the office of the Municipal Manager ensures that each and every employee and department is efficient, transparent and accountable in all its operations.
As the whole citizenry of the King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality looks up to the Municipal Council to improve their socio-economic status, the whole of the Municipality and its staff look up to the Municipal Manager to lead them and provide the necessary support to increase productivity and deliver services to all ratepayers of this Municipality.
