KSD Engages with Ward 6 Community in Mayoral Imbizo

King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality led by the Executive Mayor Cllr G.N. Nelani, hosted a Mayoral Imbizo on Tuesday, 12 August 2025, at Southernwood Hall, where Ward 06 residents had the opportunity to engage with the Municipality and sector departments on a wide range of service delivery issues.

During the meeting, the mayor addressed a range of community-impacting service delivery-related issues, including crime and vandalism of municipal electricity infrastructure.

He shared with those in attendance that the municipality had apprehended 7 individuals for vandalising electricity infrastructure. Furthermore, the municipality is working closely with the security cluster to address this issue of vandalism and find more culprits. He said, “Over R15 million has already been spent by our Municipality to address the issue of electricity infrastructure vandalism.”

In addition, he mentioned that the Municipality has introduced more bylaws and policies to improve law and order in KSD. Adding that the Municipality has maintained an unqualified audit opinion for 3 years in a row and is making every effort to obtain a clean audit.

Residents also had the opportunity to voice their concerns and suggestions for improving the community.

Services on wheels were offered by the SASSA, Department of Employment and Labour, SEDA, SAPS and Department of Health.
