ROAD CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS SET TO IMPROVE ACCESSIBILITY IN KSD COMMUNITIES

In an ongoing effort to improve connectivity and ease movement of our communities, King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipality is rolling out several road construction projects in various areas within KSD Wards. These projects are part of a larger initiative to improve the accessibility and safety of local roads while making life easier for KSD residents.

These projects include:

  • Mdlangathi access road at Ward 34 which is 2,1 km long
  •  Construction of 8,1 km access road connecting Gubevu and Tungwana locations under Ward 17.
  • Building of 6,5 km gravel road running from Majezi to Mpandela at Ward 31.
  • Sigubudwini location 2,1 km access road, Ward 31.
  • Construction of 4km long access road of Manyosini and
  • Construction of 4.5 km stretch at Sikhobeni village under Ward 21.

The development has had a huge impact on these communities, as more than 50 locals benefitted for job opportunities for the duration of the development, which is set to a period of 4 months to complete.

Introducing the appointed contractors to these communities, the Executive Mayor, Cllr G. N. Nelani emphasised that, for the success of these projects, the communities must work together with the contractors and guard against the destruction of any development that is going to benefit them.
