The King Sabata Municipality welcomed the Deputy Minister of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Mr Seiso Mohai’s oversight monitoring visit to Mthatha, aimed at assessing the government interventions post-disaster. The Municipality sincerely appreciate the Deputy Minister’s commitment in ensuring that our response efforts meet the needs of affected communities.
The KSD Municipality remains committed in collaborating with national and provincial government departments to leverage resources and expedite in addressing the challenges posed by the floods. We look forward to working with the Deputy Minister and the team in building and restoring the dignity of the affected.
An oversight visit was led by the deputy minister and his delegates to the O.R Tambo mass care center, Thornhill water works and Maiden Farm to monitor the development of the Temporary Residential Units (TRU’s).
KSD Executive Mayor Cllr G.N. Nelani extended the words of appreciation on the strides taken by the government departments to assist KSD deal with post- disaster challenges.
